For those of you who love vintage know how hard it is to find vintage clothing or stores and its even harder because it's vintage! That means it isn't mainstream. The website is so accessible and easy to navigate it has everything from clothing to bags and accessories. Sometimes vintage clothing has a tendency to be a little out dated and worn out the but the vintage clothing at Modcloth is so fresh its far from being worn out. From the beautiful crisp 50's inspired dresses to their retro baby blue striped jeans if you love those good old days when fashion was awesome your bond to find something you love. Lace Fashion Out!

The lace awaits as the new is the old and the old is the new. For the past couple of years I have notice a trend in vintage. as the recession roars on, I see so much more of the old. even with our fashionista role models from the british monarch; Kate Middleton, to our very own american first lady; Michelle Obama. Even though lace is known as a very expensive style, we the consumers have defaulted that and demanded a cheaper price, and thus there was Forever 21. Forever 21, to me, is a lace lovers best friend, literally, walk in. tell me what you see? But fear not, lace haters, solids are coming soon to store near. Hopefully soon too, not that I am a lace hater, but lets face it, I as consumer of fashion, am bored. That is why I am happy to see our leaders and role models wearing a variety of patterns.

In the summer of 2012, the styles that we are expected to see is a lot of soft and feminine dresses and blouses. Clothes will be getting a bit more busy, such as florals and feminine patterns. Many outfits will have touting pleats, folds, and draping. Believe it or not the ideal look will be some what significant to ancient Greece and ancient Rome. Many popular colors will be mint green, bright blues, yellows, oranges, and hot pinks. Neons will be very in. The vintage 70's look is also in style, the open backs and long maxi skirts will be worn all over. Colored pants and shorts will be very big as well. The hippy look is coming back!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen win at CFDA Awards.

Last night on June 4, 2012, one of fashion's biggest nights took place--the CFDA awards. Many esteemed designers, models and celebrities arrived in risk taking gowns to see who would be voted the various titles amongst which was 'Womenswear Designer of the Year'. Other designers, such as Marc Jacobs and Proenza Schouler were up for the same title as the infamous Olsen twins, Mary-Kate and Ashley. But at the end of the night, the twins prevailed and won the title for themselves. This title will solidify the twins place in the industry, making them more than just another typical celebrity line. Other titles awarded include 'Menswear Designer of the Year', awarded to Billy Reid, and 'Accessory Designer of the Year', given to Reed Krakoff. Tommy Hilfiger was also awarded the Geoffrey Bean Lifetime Achievement Award.

            STEP 1: ("I can do it stage") gather up all your old, unwanted, outa style rags taking up that one corner in your closet you wish was full of clothes you still wore 

            STEP 2: ("Go backsees stage") take out all you think you still have a liking for but... now what your still left with is 2:1 unwanted clothing.

Doe Deere Blogazine

Doe Deere is a Russian blogger that launched her own makeup line called Lime Crime in 2008. I discovered her blog a few years ago through www.shanalogic.com, where she sold her eyeshadows and lipsticks. On her blogazine (blog/magazine), she posts tutorials, photo shoots, fashion tips, Q&As, random thoughts, and her love of cats and unicorns. She is very unique and thinks outside the box- which shows in her makeup line. However, my favorite products of Doe’s are her lipsticks. Some might find them crazy, but I think they’re amazing and very unique. The packaging is the best part- the tubes are magenta with unicorns and sparkles. I can’t wait to order No She Didn’t (blue) and Airbourne Unicorn (violet).

Wide arm holed tank tops

    

The latest looks I have been seeing lately are wearing long dark skirts with a wide arm holed tank top with lace brassiere.  Many girls have been dressing with these tank tops.  The tops tend to be plain or have small pictures on them.  They are the current in look right now, and even I have to admit they are really cute.  But some are very reveling, because they end above the belly button.  Girls also wear them with skinny jeans as well with a pair of boots or ballet flats.  They are very stylish with a hint of flare.  Some are even see - through which i believe is ugly way to much show and tell if you catch my drift!

Winter Fashion 2012-2013

I believe fashion this winter will be quite unique and different from other winters in the past. From my research, I see there being a variety of colors and many layers of fabrics. Fabrics like fur, wool, cotton, and stretch materials. There will be a mix of brights with pastels and to tie the outfit together, and there will be some neutral colors like browns and blacks. Short hair to the shoulders will be popular because people now are beginning to cut their hair, therefore by winter, most hair length will be to the shoulders or a little longer. Skinny jeans are coming back and high waisted jeans are getting higher! Shirts are a little more free and less tight fitting. I hope this winter will be sometime to remember in the fashion industry.

Last Saturday, I went shopping in Asian Garden Mall, and I discovered a thrift store that opened just over a year ago. Rummage is the name. This retailer carries new and used brand name clothing in incredibly affordable prices. The one thing I love about thrift stores is that you will find clothes that you wouldn't usually find in H&M or Urban Outfitters. The "vintage" look found in thrift stores can be easily be worn with different things. Plus you save tons of money!

Rummage is located upstairs in Asian Garden Mall, Westminster. Hours are 10am-7pm everyday.

Ombre Pastels

The word "ombré" comes from the french word omber meaning "to shade". The ombré effect has become huge in fashion, through both clothing and hair, using a dip-dye technique to create a gradually shaded look. Kate Bosworth, Nicki Minaj, Lady Gaga, and many more A-List celebrities have all been seen this season sporting the ombré trend, many with pastels brightening up the tips of their hair. Ombré clothing has been seen on many runways, but dip-dying is one trend that you don’t have to spend too much on, because it’s easy to DIY with clothes you already have!
